OUR MISSION:To inspire and empower people to harness the sun’s infinite energy so that we as individuals can lead the way to a better future for our planet and the generations that come.
Who we are:At Kootenay Solar, we believe that distributed energy production, independence and affordability is a key step to an equitable and environmentally-sustainable future. In other words, solar power isn’t just about keeping the lights on while reducing your monthly energy bills. It is about investing in paradigm systems change.
Advocates for clean, renewable energyEvery solar system we install generates 100% clean, renewable and affordable electricity. By reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, solar photovoltaic technology helps our communities, our province, our country, and the world reduce the risks and impact of climate change. Solar photovoltaics are also a power source generated by and for the end user, which is a step towards decentralized energy production and affordability. We assist our clients to be energy conservation champions too. We do this by connecting property owners to our extensive network of net-zero home builders, electric heat-pump installers,, and energy-retrofit contractors (new windows, doors, air sealing and insulation).
Both owners – Stu Bilodeau and Eden Yesh – were raised in the Kootenays. They are passionate about protecting our environment by empowering individuals to reduce their carbon footprint while enjoying energy independence. Both owners have young families and recognize the importance of taking immediate action in order to protect our planet’s biospheres for generations to come.
