Solar Installer & Site Assessor – Kootenay Solar

We are seeking a meticulous, self-motivated and adaptable team member within our growing company to support the operations team with installing solar photovoltaic systems, and site assessments. Kootenay Solar is growing rapidly and the successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting current roles within the company. The candidate must currently reside in the Columbia Valley.
Job Requirements:
- Enjoy meeting new people and creating strong working relationships with them
- Must have a minimum of 5 years construction and/or roofing experience.
- Must be comfortable working from heights.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers record.
- Must be willing to work out of town for 2-5 days at a time.
- Work well in a team as well as be able to work independently
- Able to work comfortably in a fast paced environment.
- Computer literacy. This position includes some computer work.
Solar Installer Responsibilities:
- Installation of residential, commercial and industrial solar electric systems
- Receiving shipments, loading trucks, delivering products to worksites, setting-up scaffolding and equipment at worksites.
Site Assessor Responsibilities:
- Complete site assessments for potential new clients within the west, central and lower east Kootenays
- Process all client folder information in our computer system
- Excellent customer service is a must as the site assessment is the first time meeting our potential clients in person
Other duties may include but are not limited to:
- Grant writing
- Special projects and research
- General administrative support with current staff
- Executive assistant to CEO (calendar scheduling, minute taking)
- Support the Sales team with contacting all new leads
- Support Customer Service team by responding to incoming calls and emails from the public
- Sales and business development in the West Kootenay’s
Training will be provided on all aspects of this position.
Term and Compensation:
- 35hrs per week. 3-month probation period.
- Ability to increase to 40hrs per week, permanent position.
- Starting $21/hr
- Company profit sharing after probation period
